Practical archaeological excavation (code AEA_15): workshop II takes place in the summer months. Students undertake field practice in systematic excavation in loess subsoil where they try out all the procedures related to the excavation process and post-excavation processing including taking micromorphological, pedological and pedochemical samples, floating and sifting, drawing and digital documentation of the research, operating the totalling station, basic laboratory processing of finds, etc.
Practical archaeological prospecting (code AEB_129): workshop I concentrates on practical experience in prospecting the region with the occurrence of mound burial grounds and enclosed settlements from the Bronze Age as well as other anthropogenic relics. Students also acquire practice in identifying 3D anthropogenic relics, their surveying, documenting and interpretation. The investigation includes surface collecting and detecting with a detector.
